Learning Animation

Third Step
After completing the sketches for each of my frames, I proceeded to stack them on top of one another in order to assess how they looked as a whole. This process allowed me to examine the overall composition of the frames and identify any areas that required further refinement or adjustment.

By carefully analysing the alignment and spacing of the frames in relation to one another, I was able to ensure that the overall flow of the animation was smooth and cohesive. Additionally, this process enabled me to evaluate the consistency of the lines and shapes throughout the frames, and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that they were visually coherent and aesthetically pleasing.

Overall, the act of stacking the frames on top of each other was a crucial step in the animation process, as it allowed me to evaluate the animation as a whole and ensure that it met my artistic standards. By taking the time to carefully examine and refine each frame in this way, I was able to create an animation that was visually compelling and aesthetically satisfying.

Second Step
a focus on identifying any areas that required improvement in terms of neatness and precision. Once these areas had been identified, I proceeded to carefully refine the lines in question, with the aim of enhancing the overall clarity and aesthetic appeal of the sketches

, I employed a range of techniques and tools, such as erasers, rulers, and fine-point pens, in order to achieve the desired level of neatness and accuracy in my first sketch.

In sum, the process of reviewing and refining my initial sketch was a challenging but ultimately rewarding one, requiring a high degree of skill, patience, and attention to detail. Yet, through the application of these qualities, I was able to achieve a level of artistic excellence.

Fourth Step

After completing the process of sketching and refining each frame, I proceeded to convert them into an animated PNG format. This allowed me to create a organised and visually engaging animation that brought my sketches to life.
As I worked to create the animated PNG, I paid close attention to the timing and spacing of each frame, ensuring tha
t the animation flowed smoothly and that the transitions between frames were seamless. I also took care to optimize the file size of the animation, balancing the quality of the images with the overall size of the file to ensure that it would load quickly and efficiently.

When the conversion process was complete, I was pleased to see that the animation was a faithful representation of my original sketches. The lines were crisp and precise, and the motion between frames was smooth and fluid. The final result was a visually captivating and dynamic animation that truly brought my artistic vision to life.

My Progression

On my first day, I opted to undertake the task of animating Donald Duck. To begin with, I scoured through Walt Disney studios' archives in search of a basic animation sketch. I traced over the sketch, while also altering some aspects of the art style to suit my preferences. Subsequently, I drew each frame depicting Donald Duck walking, capturing the essence of his movement in the wind. In doing so, I ensured that his hair, tail, and bow tie were also animated accordingly. Upon completing the drawings, I proceeded to apply colour to each frame, ensuring that the process was duplicated across all frames. Finally, I stacked the frames together, resulting in the creation of an animated PNG.

I was provided with the initial sketch that served as the reference for my animation of Donald Duck. This reference served as the foundation upon which I built my creation, ensuring that I remained faithful to the original design while also incorporating my own stylistic choices.

First Attempt
As a learner in the art of drawing, I attempted to create my first rendition of Donald Duck. Although it was my initial attempt, I committed myself to the task, hoping to produce a respectable result.
