Rationale
I have chosen to pursue animation as a career path because of my deep passion for art and drawing, as well as my desire to utilize my creativity to bring my ideas to life. The process of animating a still image and imbuing it with movement and vitality is particularly intriguing to me. Ultimately, my goal is to succeed in creating my own animated works.
Concept
My project concept involves researching techniques for drawing and shaping bodies and transforming them into animated figures. My goal is to learn how to create compelling animations that effectively convey emotions and tell a story through movement. Whether it's a brief or extended clip, my aim is to produce a character that can evoke a range of emotions in viewers. The reason behind my pursuit of this project is my deep admiration for Disney animations and anime productions, both of which fascinate me. I'm constantly impressed by the level of skill and effort that goes into creating even the briefest animated scenes, and I aspire to create similarly stunning works.
What I'm Doing
I am currently engaged in the process of re-illustrating one of my favourite Sanrio clips, with the intention of infusing my own unique artistic style into the project. While I will be retaining certain elements from the original clip, I am also introducing my own creative flair and making changes as necessary to achieve the desired result. By incorporating my personal style into the illustration, I hope to produce an end product that is both distinctive and compelling.
My Creativity
I possess a unique ability to perceive situations from different angles and offer diverse perspectives, utilizing my creativity to open up people's minds. My problem-solving skills are well-honed, allowing me to identify and implement effective solutions. I am constantly seeking new methods of creating art, driven by my passion for generating beauty and wonder through my work. When presented with a blank canvas, I am empowered to craft anything my imagination can conceive. My positive mindset and attitude enable me to approach life's challenges with a constructive outlook, having learned that positive thinking is the key to a fulfilling existence.
I would also like to showcase some of my art projects, which reflect my creativity and skill as an artist.
Evaluation
After careful consideration, I have come to the realization that there are both advantages and disadvantages to learning how to animate. One of the biggest pros is the joy of creating an animation and bringing a drawing to life, imbuing it with emotions that can elicit a powerful response from viewers. However, one of the major cons is that sometimes an animation may not work as intended, requiring extensive modifications or even removal. This can be particularly challenging given the time and effort invested in creating the animation, leading to feelings of disappointment and frustration.
As an individual, I possess a variety of strengths and weaknesses that affect my approach to animation. One of my greatest strengths is my creative mindset, which enables me to generate and develop ideas and concepts for drawing and animation. However, I also struggle with the tendency to compare myself to others and their art styles, often feeling as though I have failed before even beginning. It is important to recognize that animation, and art in general, is a complex and often time-consuming process that requires significant skill and dedication. Even a seemingly simple 5-second animation clip can involve numerous scenes and a considerable amount of effort to produce.
